Janet and I went to school together. I have many fond memories of the family. Here is one memory I have of Mr. Trempus. My father died at 53 leaving my mother a young widow. She often took her car to Mr. Trempus for repairs. She didn't have much money, but Mr. Trempus always kept her old car running. Years later, I saw Mr. Trempus. I told him about my mom and her car and said to him, "You never charged her the full cost of the repairs." He smiled and softly said, ""I did that for a lot of people." What a great man. I'll miss you, Mr. Trempus. Rest in peace.
