William A. White, (93), formerly of Springdale Twp., passed away May 13, 2025. For the past several years he has resided at the Kane Regional Center in Ross Twp. Born November 5, 1931, in Washington, PA to the late George Joseph White and Rachel Marie Cumpston. He graduated from Washington High School after which he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. After leaving the military he received two degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. William worked for Westinghouse Electric for 31 years. After retiring from Westinghouse, he worked parttime at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for 20 years. William also served for a number of years as an Assistant Scout Master for the Springdale Boy Scout Troop, #153. His fondest memories from this time were the two canoe trips along the Allegheny River that he took the boy scouts on which went from Tionesta to Highland Park. He had a deep love for animals and enjoyed reading books and walking in the woods. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marie S. Lucke. He is survived by his son, Robert W. (Peggy) White of Hampton and daughter Anna Marie White of New Kensington, grandchildren Anthony White and Nicholas White. William’s family would like to thank the care givers at Kane Ross.
