William R. Veronick, 96, of McKeesport, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. He was born Sept. 22, 1921, to his parents, the late George and Anna Cash Veronick, and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he worked for 30 years as lead inspector for U.S. Steel, Christy Park Works, where he eventually retired. William was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Parish in McKeesport and enjoyed golfing and bowling. Surviving him are nieces and nephews: Melanie (Stan) Malak, of Harmar; Debra (Jimmy) Simonetta, of North Huntington; Bill Matta, of Virginia; Albert (Lucy) Veronick, of Wexford; Edward (Mary) Veronick, of Florida; Charles (Joyce) Veronick, of Nazereth; William Walicura, of McKeesport; Carol Bernoski, of Arizona; and Evelyn (Al) Borrelli, of Morningside. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, four brothers, and his companion for 40 years, Cecelia J. Janusek. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until blessing services starting at noon Friday, Sept. 14, with the Rev. Alan Morris presiding in CHARLES B.
