Wilbert (Will) Petz, 92, of Cabot, formerly of Cheswick, passed away Thursday February 15, 2018. He was born November 9, 1925, in Brackenridge. Wilbert lived in Cheswick for 58 years and worked as a machinist at Westinghouse for more than 30 where he eventually retired. He was a longstanding member of the Cheswick Presbyterian Church, and with his late wife, Helen, a volunteer with the Springdale Meals-on-Wheels.
Wilbert served in The U.S. Navy from November 6, 1943 to April 7, 1946 as a diesel mechanic aboard the Patrol Craft Special PCS-1376 anti-submarine/minesweeper off the Atlantic coast.
Mr. Petz is survived by two sons: Robert (Deb) Petz and James (Denise) Petz; a granddaughter, Katherine Casey Splittdorf as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Frank and Bertha Duerr Petz, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Talda Petz and one brother Laverne Petz and sister Arvilla Bush.
Friends will be received on Wednesday February 21st from 9:30am until time of service at 11:30am in The CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pgh.
