Thomas (Tom) L. Potts passed away at St. Margaret’s Hospital on June 21, 2024, at age 75 after a long and courageous battle with illness. Tom was born on July 9, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Charles and Marion (Bauer) Potts. Tom earned his Undergraduate and Masters degrees from the University of Pittsburgh at night while working in the day and supporting his new family. He was a noted information science expert and was employed by several banks and retailers in the greater Pittsburgh Area. Tom lived for more than 50 years in Cheswick Boro. While at home, Tom could be found enjoying time with his family or pursuing one of his many interests which included home improvements, running, coin collecting, biking and computer programming. Tom was the devoted and loving husband of Charlotte (Spolar) Potts. He met the love of his life at age 17 and never left her side over more than 53 years of marriage. Tom is survived by his wife Charlotte, his son and daughter-in-law Tom and Karen Potts, his grandchildren Benjamin, Andy, and Mae Rose, his sister-in-law Donna Porter and his niece Carla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marion (Bauer) Potts and his older brother Charles Potts. His family is planning to gather together and hold a private celebration of his life later this summer.
