Sophia (Olczak) Salyers, 101, of Cheswick, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. She was born April 5, 1920, in Natrona, to her late parents, Bronislaw and Eva Domaza Olczak, and had been a lifelong resident of the community. Mrs. Salyers was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church/ Guardian Angels Parish for many years. She was a strong, hardworking, compassionate woman and her family will always love and miss her forever. Rest in Peace Mommy. Surviving her are son, Thomas (Tasha) Salyers of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter, Susan (Jim) Dorcy, of Eagan, Minn.; daughter, Lucy Salyers, of New Kensington; five grandchildren, Jon, Jason, Patricia, Bridgit and Jonny; and five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Emma, Noah, Jimmy and Sadie. Besides her parents, Sophia was also preceded in death by her husband, Purl, in 1989; and a daughter, Jeanne Freshwater.
