Rudy Canonaco

Rudy Canonaco, 92, of Cheswick, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, in Forbes Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Largo, Italy, to his parents, the late Pietro and Laura Cappello Canonaco, and had been a longtime resident of the valley. He served in the Navy for five years. After his discharge, he worked for PPG in Cheswick for 30 years before eventually retiring. Surviving are loving wife of 55 years, Maxine VanTine Canonaco; daughter, Lisa (Tony) Pollice, of Cheswick; sons, Joe Mokran, of Texas, and Michael Canonaco, of Mars; brother, Albert Canonaco, of Ohio; four grandchildren, Lauren (Keith) Pollice Cavanaugh, Derek (Christine) Cavanaugh, Taylor Fowler and Cameron Canonaco; and one great-granddaughter, Peyton Cavanaugh. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gilda Joyce. Services and interment are private for his immediate family in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
