Robert "Bob" Laczek, 81, of Cheswick, passed away suddenly at his home away from home in Brookville Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born Aug. 20, 1939, to his late parents, John and Stella Horenzy Laczek and has since been a longtime resident of the community. Mr. Laczek served in the Army and after his honorable discharge, worked for J&L Steel for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed estate sales, antiquing and camping but his passion was his cars and trucks and especially spending time with his family. Surviving him are his loving wife of 62 years, Judy Richardson Laczek; daughters, Colleen (Ken) Howell of California, Doreen (Joe) Bodnar, of Harmar, Suzanne (Kirk) Prescott, of Springdale, and Marianne (Kirt) Laczek Spiering, of Tarentum; sister, Irene (Mike) Viazanko, of United; grandchildren, Jen, Scott, Nathan, Anthony, Josh, Shelby, Brenna and Ryan; and 10 great-grandchildren. Special mention to his niece, Denise, as well as many more nieces and nephews and cousins and his best friend, Janette Mitchell, and his fur buddy, Corkey. Besides his parents, Mr. Laczek was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Swidwa and Helen Zimmerman; and a brother, John Laczek. Friends are invited for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 5, 2021, in the CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pittsburgh St. where blessing services will commence at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6 with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery.
