Robert M. Armstrong, 83, of Cheswick, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Fawn Personal Care, Fawn Township. He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in New Kensington, to the late Mark and Bertha Moyes Armstrong, and was a resident of the area his whole life. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. A retired operating engineer, he worked for River Sand, Penn Builders and Burrell Construction. He was a member of Pollick Lodge Tarentum and the Shriners. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie Perlinger Armstrong. He is survived by his niece, Karon (Mike) Merola; great-nephew, Anthony (Amanda) Merola; great-niece, Natalie Merola; great-nephew, Dominick Merola; his three sisters-in-law, Sharon Wateska, Noram Ball and Leila Creeks; his brother-in-law, Don (Sandy) Perlinger; seven cousins, Jack Adamson, Carol Brown, Jimmy, Thomas, Lenny, Charles and James Moyes; and many other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, with burial to follow next to Natalie in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township. with full military honors. Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, PA 16505.
