Richard J. “Chopie” Sublinsky, 92, of Indianola, Indiana Township, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at the UMAC Veterans Facility, Aspinwall. He was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Logans Ferry, to the late Joseph and Agnes Vernosky Sublinsky, and lived most of his life in Indianola. He was employed as a diesel mechanic with Republic Steel, and later with Jones Trucking Co. in Indianola. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force, and was a member of St. Pios Parish in Harmar. He was a judge of elections in Indiana Township, and an avid golfer belonging to two golf leagues, the Indiana Rod and Gun Club and Clyde and Patties golf league. Survivors are daughters, Rulene “Cookie” (Derrick) Tuscano and Darlene “Sam” (Paul) Paulovich; two grandchildren, Lance Palmer (Rachael) Asbee and Carly (Joseph) Surra; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Chopie was also preceded in death by his wife, Violet Ruth Sublinsky; grandson, Nathan Baxter; brother, Henry; and a sister, Marcella Moses. Viewing and blessing services are private for his immediate family. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by THE CHARLES B.
