Nancy L. Metkler, 69, of Springdale, passed away March 5, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana after a hard-fought battle with a rare form of urothelial kidney cancer. She was born February 12, 1956, to her parents, the late August and Marion Crawford Metkler. Ms. Metkler graduated from Springdale High School in 1974 and received her bachelor’s from Grove City College in 1978 and later her master’s degree. Nancy worked as a police officer in Wilkinsburg for 17 years, where she was the first woman to be hired on the police force. She later worked in management for MSA Employees Federal Credit Union in Cranberry where she eventually retired. Nancy was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, and former member of Springdale United Presbyterian Church. Nancy was a devoted mother and daughter and caretaker to her mom Marion for many years before her passing. Ms. Metkler was a passionate artist and crafter, having painted many beautiful pieces. She enjoyed football and always relished the chance to see her son Zach play as well as coach, playing with her “granddog” Annie, but most of all her family and friends meant the most to her. She will be sadly missed.

Friends will be received on Thursday March 13, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh. St. where funeral services will commence 11am. Friday with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery.
