Marilyn Isabelle (Mim) Mitchell of Springdale, passed away on Mother’s Day May 10, 2026, at the age of 92. Born to Thomas and Grace 9Hursh) McCracken, she was a lifelong resident of Springdale Twp. Marilyn graduated from Springdale High School. She married the late Thomas Mitchell on January 25, 1954, and were married 59 years. She was a long-time member of Springdale United Methodist Church until it closed in June of 2025 where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern star. Mrs. Mitchell retired from the Presbyterian Senior Care home as a Physical Therapy Aid and was involved delivering food for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Dan) Radko of Keyser WV.; Janette Mitchell of Springdale and two sons Thomas (Debby) of Shaler and Kenneth (Kathy) of Butler. Beloved grandmother of five grandchildren, Sean Radko, Matthew Mitchell, Lindsay (Clint) Knuth, Krystal (Ryan) Mitchell and Corey (Lauren) Mitchell. She leaves behind six Great-grandchildren Aiden, McKenzie, Flora, Fitz, Owen and two other great grandsons. As well as a special nephew who was like her third son, Donald Mitchell Jr. She also leaves three sisters, Grace Younkins, Carol Hetrick, luana Tucci and one brother Thomas Mccracken Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her late husband Thomas Mitchell and one brother Calvin McCracken.
Her family would like to thank Linda Schreyer for all the meals and transportation assistance these last several years.
Her family will receive friends Friday May 15, 2026, from 12 noon until services at 1:45 in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pgh. St. with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers are Sean Radko, Matthew Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, Aiden Radko, Clint Knuth and Donald Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Valley Community Food Bank P.O. box 201 Springdale 15144.
