Marie A. (Toth) Charles

Marie A. "Tootsie" Charles, 86, of Springdale, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021. She was born Aug. 11, 1935, to her parents, the late Samuel and Esther Szabo Toth and has been a longtime resident of the community. She worked for William Penn Insurance Company for 25 years, where she eventually retired. Mrs. Charles was an active member of Springdale United Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with the craft group as well as many others. She always supported The Springdale Free Public Library and enjoyed reading, working on puzzles and especially spending time with her family. Surviving her are her niece, Heather (Matthew) Stasko, of Leechburg; great-niece, Mackenzie Toth; sister-in-law, Wanda Toth, of Springdale; and many close dear friends from town and church. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Tady; and two brothers, Samuel and Edward Toth. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, in Springdale Cemetery.
