Margaret B. (Csonka) Tarpay

Margaret B. Tarpay, 95, of Apollo, passed away Friday October 29, 2021.  She was born July 23, 1926, to her late parents, Alex and Mary Csonka Baksay, and has been a longtime resident of the community. Mrs. Tarpay worked for Hillcrest Country Club, Lower Burrell, for over 30 years as locker room manager where she eventually retired. She was of the Catholic faith and belonged to the Upper Burrell Fire Department and enjoyed sewing, cooking, working puzzles and spending time with her family. Surviving her is her sons, Paul (Barbara) Tarpay Jr., William F. Tarpay and Frank (Jennifer) Tarpay; granddaughter, Christen Canaan, who was raised by Marge; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Tarpay Sr.; son, Alex P. Tarpay; daughter, Margaret Tarpay; brothers, Paul and Alex Baksay; and two sisters, Betty Salata and Irene Beck. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., Springdale, PA 15144, where blessing services will commence at 10 a.m. Thursday morning with burial to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
