Joseph E. Volk Jr. 76 of Harmar Township passed away March 24, 2026. He was born on September 15, 1949, and has been a lifelong member of the community. Mr. Volk worked for Allegheny Ludlum where he eventually retired. Joe enjoyed reading, walking, watching Jeopardy and the Pittsburgh sports teams. He especially liked tending to his flower garden and vegetables.
Surviving him are:
Daughter’s Tara (Edward) Matis of Vandergrift
Tori O’Malley of Kittanning
Step-Son William Ryan of Harmar.
Brother Michael Volk of Ford City.
Grandchildren Marin Beck, Ethan Egley and Caleb Hilty.
Besides his parents, Mr. Volk was also preceded by his loving wife Ruth Ann (Hocmuth) Volk in 2023 as well as several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Volk will be privately laid to rest beside his wife in Deer Creek Cemetery. Arrangements supervised by THE CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOMES INC. 801/1607 Pgh. St.
