It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father , John W. (Sandy) Zelazowski OD on December 28, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born in Acmetonia, PA to the late John and Tillie Zelazowski and was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis (Mercedes) Zelazowski. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing the right thing.
Sandy was a dedicated and respected Optometrist of our community for over 55 years. He has touched and left a lasting impact on countless lives with his kind heart and skilled practice of Optometry. While practicing in Aspinwall, Cheswick and Lower Burrell, Sandy was known for his unwavering dedication and genuine compassion to his patients by always treating them with respect and dignity. The absence of his presence will be felt by so many.
Although Sandy was an accomplished Optometrist in his professional life his true calling was being the best father anyone could ask for. His commitment to his children, Joani and John, extended far beyond providing; it was the time he carved out of his busy life to create amazing memories. Whether they were out on the boat, visiting grandparents in Florida over the winter; ski trips out West or Sunday family dinners at their grandparents house, these beautiful memories will always be a source of strength, helping to find comfort and peace in his legacy.
Sandy leaves behind his daughter; Joani Zelazowski, his son John (Veronica) Zelazowski. His Grandchildren; Billy, Ashley, Alyssa and Mia. His Wife of 29 years; Pam Zelazowski, Step children; Chad Gay, Corey (Michelle) Gay, Cristen Walker; Step Grandchildren; Jordin Walker (Rita), Bailee Eggleston (Brandon); Step Great-Grandchildren; Colt and Zoa.
Friends will be received on Friday January 3, 2025 in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pgh. St. where services will commence at 10am Saturday January 4th with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery.
