John J. Venneri

John J. Venneri, 66, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023. John is survived by his loving wife of 30-plus years, Jane (Drapela); and a large extended family. John was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Samuel; his brother, Sam (Janet); and his brother, Douglas. John had a blessed life that included time with his family, interesting hobbies and an insatiable desire to learn everything. John's time in the Coast Guard included scuba diving near Hawaii and Alaska. John specialized in electronics during his service. The electronics background set the groundwork for his career in senior technical positions at multiple companies in Southwestern PA. John also specialized in guiding companies through government regulations for medical devices. In short, John tended to be the "smartest guy in the room." John's family time was building a wonderful home with Jane, playing with his dog, Murray, trying new recipes in the kitchen and smoking meat. His favorite event was hosting the annual Weenie Roast. John loved to read, and he read about a wide range of subjects. For example, he read math textbooks just to keep his mind sharp. His other hobbies ranged from HAM radio to stargazing with his telescope to watching the Pittsburgh Penguins.
