John "Jack" Thompson

John William “Jack” Thompson, 75, of Cheswick, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Fort Myers, Florida.  After a long period of declining health, Jack passed away peacefully at home with his beloved son Jon Jason “JJ” and dear friend Niall McEvoy by his side.

Born November 10, 1946, in Trenton, New Jersey, Jack is a son of the late Sonya and Philip Paul Thompson Sr.  In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 52 years, Donna Louise Thompson (nee Hanna) and both of his brothers, Philip Paul Jr. and Richard D. Thompson.

Jack proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was stationed in Ching Chuan Kang Air Base, Vietnam.  After he and Donna returned from Service, Jack earned a BSc in Psychology from the University of Pitt.  He then began working in pharmaceutical sales for GlaxoSmithKline and is fondly remembered by his colleagues and acquaintances throughout the medical facilities in his district.

A man of strong faith, in addition to being a committed member of Crosspointe church in Harmar, Jack took several mission trips to Mexico over the course of his life.

Jack was a quick-witted gentleman who loved the outdoors.  He was an avid golfer, boater, and recreational pilot.  Most of all, Jack was a proud father who loved his family, his community, and his dog.

Jack is survived by his only son, JJ Thompson and JJ’s wife Caroline.  He will be greatly missed by his extended family, neighbors throughout Chapel Downs and friends throughout Pennsylvania and Ireland.
