John F. Cooper, 94, of Cheswick, passed away at home Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. He was born Nov. 19, 1926, to his parents, the late Ralph and Lenora Cooper, and has been a lifelong resident of the community. Mr. Cooper served in the Navy and later worked as a truck driver for the former Allegheny Label Co., where he eventually retired. He enjoyed riding his Harleys and once rode from San Francisco to Pittsburgh in 48 hours in the rain. He was a hard worker and liked to tend to his garden and keep his yard looking nice. Surviving him are sister, Dorothy Pollick, of Harmar, niece, Connie (Joe) Peluso, of Greensburg; stepdaughter, Carol (Bill) Mitchell, of Springdale; stepgrandchildren, Bill (Andrea) Mitchell, Karen (Bruce) Graham and Mike (Melissa) Mitchell; great-niece, Franca (Patrick) Peluso Mulhern; great-nephew, Joseph Peluso Jr.; and loyal friends, Sally (Jim) Weidenhoff and their children. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sunder Cooper; and a brother, Howard Cooper. Services and interment were held privately at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
