Henry J. Kuczyski, 98, of Cheswick, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021. He was born April 2, 1923, in Cherry Valley, Pa., to his parents, the late John and Bertha Kuczynski. He was raised in Russellton and graduated from Springdale High School in 1941. He served in the Army/Air Force during World War II and received an honorable discharge. He worked for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a highway engineer for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers. Henry was continually active in the community. He was one of the founders of Bouquet Park swimming pool in Springdale. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and served as grand knight. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was especially proud of his annual tomato crop. Spending time with his family was most important to him. Surviving him are his daughter, Patricia Kuczynski Mandic; sister, Bertha Molnar; grandchildren, Brian Mandic and Brad (Jennifer May) Mandic; sister-in-law, Rose Kuczynski; brother-in law, Rudy Melani; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Kuczynski was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Bernabei Kuczynski; two brothers, Stanley and Edward Kuczynski; as well as a sister-in-law, Marie Kuczynski. His family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday May 26, 2021, in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., where his blessing service will commence at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27, with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
