Geraldine "Gerry" Bossola Tomayko, 85, of Springdale, passed away Jan. 5, 2021. She was born Feb. 26, 1935, to her parents, the late Harold and Pauline Zilla Bossola and has been a lifelong resident of the community. Mrs. Tomayko was a devout member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale and enjoyed shopping, playing 500 Rummy with her card club, planning her class reunions while eating lunch at the former Frosted Mug Bar, shopping with her grandchildren and especially going to the movies and spending time with her loving family. Surviving her are her sons, Robert Tomayko and David Tomayko, both of Springdale; daughter, Lori (Patrick) Marano, of Jenkintown; sister, Marlene "Babe" (Dick) Reid, of Cheswick; grandchildren, Nicole and Craig Tomayko and Cole, Cara and Carson Marano; and one great-grandchild, Dominick Shearer. Besides her parents, Gerry was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Tomayko in 1987. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, followed by a blessing service at noon in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St. Interment will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. Masks and distancing will apply along with all CDC policies. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later time when everyone can safely attend.
