Geraldine "Gerri" DePoli Onufer, 74, of Springdale, passed away at home unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021. She was born Jan. 22, 1947, to her parents, the late Selvio and Wanda Bussotti DePoli, and has been a longtime resident of the community. Gerri graduated from Springdale High School, Class of 1964. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale and worked for Burmac Roofing for 30 years before retiring as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed feeding her family for Sunday dinners as well as the holidays. Gerri was all about her family and loved attending her grandchildren's events and going on family vacations as well as shopping, Atlantic City trips and visiting the Casino. She belonged to her card club for 52 years with Lloyd, Mandic, Vigrass, Makinak, Martier-Mainwaring, plus her sisters-in-law. Surviving her are her loving husband of 54 years, Michael "Meigo" Onufer; son, Michael (Stephanie) Onufer, of Plum; daughter, Nicole (Bob) Hank, of Fawn Township; son, Jason Onufer, of Springdale; brother, Frank (Suzanne) DePoli, of Springdale; grandchildren, Mikey and Mia; sisters-in-law, Janet Onufer, of Springdale, and Carol Onufer Andrews, of Hawaii; andumerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, in the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St. Please follow Covid-19 protocols. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, in St. Alphonsus Church-Guardian Angels Parish. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
