Frank Ostrowski died Wednesday August 7, 2024, in Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh PA.
Born February 3, 1954, in Scottdale, Pa., he lived most of his life in Natrona Heights PA.
Frank was a graduate of Highlands High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering. After graduation, he worked for Eaton Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer in the Low Voltage Breaker Unit until his retirement. While at Eaton, he received many awards and accolades, including receiving six patents for his work, and the Cutler-Hammer Enterprise-Wide Catalyst Award for Technical Excellence in 1999. He loved his work as an engineer, never missed work, and built a career there that any engineer would be proud of. He could and actually did design, fix and construct almost anything his work and family needed, and took great pride in his skills.
Frank was a very knowledgeable and outgoing man with many talents, always ready with a smile and a capable helping hand to anyone who needed him. He talked easily with everyone he met, loved having a good time, and was always a strong, reliable support to his family and friends. He loved chatting about politics and loved his country.
He was a lifelong boater, and the retirement present to himself, and his family was his Regal Express cruiser that was moored on Lake Norman in Charlotte North Carolina. Many wonderful and beautiful memories were created on that boat that he called his vacation home away from home. He loved exploring the lake and being the captain, with his wife being assigned the First Mate honor.
He was also an avid train collector, was a member of the Train Collectors Association. He built a large display every Christmas, and a number of permanent displays in his home for his family to enjoy.
More than anything, he loved his family, and was a wonderful, loving and respected husband, father and grandfather. He was an outstanding planner and provider and had constructed a loving and comprehensive retirement plan for him and his family. He loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart, relished their love, and delighted in their accomplishments. Most of all, he loved his wife Bonnie, and gave her the nickname “The little woman” to his “Big Man” nickname, given to him by his wife, and suited him so well.
He was very loved, respected, and cherished by his family, and will be terribly missed by all those who knew him.
Friends are welcome to celebrate Frankie’s life on Wednesday August 14, 2024, from 5 until services at 6:45pm pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh. St.
