With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edna Christmas, a beloved person whose passion and creativity touched many lives. Edna departed this world on September 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy and inspiration.
Her creative spirit shone brightly through her work as the designer of the logo for CSS Crafts. She had a deep love for ornaments, tree decorations, candy molds, cookie decorations and stuffed animals, reflecting her fondness for any holiday celebrations and the joy they brought. Her enthusiasm for these activities was matched only by her passion for action movies and her favorite film, Jurassic Park.
An avid lover of oranges, the beach, and swimming, Edna found solace and happiness in nature and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She had a special fondness for Camp Spencer and cherished attending various special needs dances where she was treated like royalty, reflecting her vibrant personality and grace.
Edna's love for her community and the camaraderie that she found there was evident in her involvement in the Milestone New Horizons Day Program and her membership at Calvary Baptist Church. She was not just a participant but a leader—an advocate for her friends and peers, always standing up for what was right and promoting order and structure in every aspect of her life.
Known affectionately as a "boss lady," Edna was a natural leader whose personality and kindness inspired those around her. Her legacy as a supportive friend and a member of the Sisterhood at Frazier House will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Pathways Community Living will always cherish the time that she spent residing at the Frazier House as one of the “Golden Girls” with her lifelong friends of over 30 years, Millie and Carolyn.
Edna’s warmth, creativity, and leadership have left an indelible mark on our hearts. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held at Charles B. Jarvie Funeral Home, 801 Pittsburgh Street, Springdale, PA 15144, where we will honor her remarkable journey and the joy she brought into our lives. Visitors will be received on Tuesday September 17, 2024 from 10am - 12pm, when we will hold a celebration of life service at 12pm. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Camp Spencer in memory of our dear friend Edna.
May Edna rest in peace, forever remembered and loved.
