Eleanor Harmorsky Hajduk, 98, of Clarion PA, formerly of Springdale, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2026, surrounded by family.
She was born June 25th, 1928, in Harmar PA, to John and Anna Leechock Harmorsky. Eleanor graduated from Springdale High School and worked at Westinghouse, from where she retired.
Eleanor was an active member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale, where she participated in the choir and Ladies of Charity, as well as volunteered for the local meals-on-wheels program. She and her late husband Ray loved to travel and went to many Navy reunions all over the country. Eleanor was active throughout her life and was able to remain independent well into her 90s thanks to the support from her daughter, son-in-law, nephew Peter Hamorsky, and nieces Bonnie Harris, Janet Jackson, and the late Peg Lopresti. One of her favorite activities was bowling and she was a member of a local bowling league for many years and continued to stay in touch with the great friends she made there. Anyone who knows Eleanor knows she had the greatest sense of humor and that attitude did not fade one bit in her later years.
Eleanor is survived by her son-in-law Paul Shaner, of Clarington, PA, grandson Zachary Brown, of Chicago, IL, granddaughter Brittany (Scott) Heichel, of Curwensville, PA, and great-grandson Cooper Heichel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Hajduk and daughter Kathleen Shaner.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Susan Adams, and brothers John Hamorsky, Edward Hamorsky, Michael Hamorsky, and Joseph Hamorsky.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, September 17th from 3:00-7:00 pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME Inc. 801 PGH. St. with a blessing service to commence on Friday, September 18th at 10:00 am. with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. www.jarviefuneralhome.com
