Dolores Ide, Springdale, Dolores G Ide, 93 of Lower Burrell died June 9, 2024, at Concordia at Rebecca Residence. She was born in Springdale, PA, on Oct. 4, 1930. Where she attended Springdale High School. Dolores was a member of the Springdale United Presbyterian Church where she met her husband Martin Ide in the choir. Dolores loved her church, she had many roles at the church, such as deacon, organist, artist and many volunteering events. Her faith and family were very dear to her heart. Dolores worked at Alcoa as a receptionist in the downtown Pittsburgh office until she and Martin began a family. Dolores loved camping, canoeing, spending time with her neighbors around a campfire in Lower Burrell, drawing, arts and crafts at the church, holidays with family, making greeting cards, watching all sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, her dogs (including grand dogs) and baking pies. Later in her and Martin’s life they moved to Highpoint at Rebecca, and really enjoyed their newfound community. The family would like to thank the staff throughout the Concordia system for their guidance, care and friendship they showed both of their parents. Dolores had a quiet demeanor, known to all as being a sweet, gentle, quiet, and thoughtful woman, but also known to those close to her as being strong, creative, funny and having a fierce sweet tooth. Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Martin F Ide, parents Henry and Elizbeth Gaskin and brother George Gaskin. She is survived by her two daughters Carol L Ide (Cynthia Strittmatter) Pittsburgh, Karen L Heffley (Jeff Heffley) Gibsonia and granddaughter Kaylee Heffley. Friends will be received Saturday, June 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Springdale United Presbyterian Church, 859 Pittsburgh St. Springdale PA, 15144, followed by a church service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial with family will be held at Deer Creek cemetery.
