Cory P. Schmidt

Cory P. Schmidt, 40, of Cheswick, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2022. He was born Sept. 21, 1982, to his parents Richard and Gina Ortoleva Schmidt. Cory graduated from Springdale High School and served in the Army. He worked as a mechanic, always helping anyone and everyone who would ask. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix and he enjoyed what he did. He loved to restore classic cars, especially for the Pittsburgh Grand Prix. He was involved with children's sports with his son and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Surviving him are his loving wife, Miranda Gerg Schmidt; son, Alexander; mother and father, Gina Richard Schmidt, of Springdale; brother, Justin Schmidt and fiancé, Melinda Zott, of Arizona; Aunt Donna (Richard) Irlbacher, of Pine Township; in-laws, Mary and Daniel Sorg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 18, 2022, in THE CHARLES B.
