Cecilia Marie (Vidra) Zastawniak

Cecilia Marie (Vidra) Zastawniak, 80, of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. She was born Sept. 22, 1941, to her parents, the late Charles and Margaret Bordell Vidra, and has been a lifelong resident of Springdale. Cecilia was a 1959 graduate of Springdale High School. After graduation, she attended Braddock General Hospital's School of Nursing. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Penn State University and her master's in health services from University of St. Francis. Mrs. Zastawniak worked at Citizens General Hospital, Harmar Miner's Clinic and Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where she eventually retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and sister, gardening, crafting, reading, dancing and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Zastawniak, of Allison Park, and Janice Zastawniak, of Springdale; sister, Geraldine (Robert) Piemme, of Spring Creek, Pa.; brothers, James (Dorothy) Vidra, of Annapolis, Md., Donald (Toni) Vidra, of Murrysville, and Ronald (Patricia) Vidra, of York; brother-in-law, Robert (Amy) Zastawniak, of Springdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also preceded by her loving husband of 31 years, Kenneth Zastawniak. The family wishes a heartfelt thanks to her loving neighbor, Dolores (Dolly) Bosman, and her friend and longtime caregiver, Mary Jane (MJ) Varrato, of Springdale, for the unconditional loving care and support throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to KZ Scholarship Fund (Springdale High School), c/o 470 Marion Ave., Springdale, PA 15144. Friends are welcome for visitation from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, in the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St. Please wear masks. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, in St. Alphonsus/Guardian Angels Parish.
