Alice (Klara) Ockas, 87, of Cheswick, passed away peacefully Friday, June 16, 2023, at her home. She was born in Harmarville to the late John and Louise Klara and married to the late Thomas A. Ockas Sr. Mrs. Ockas was a graduate of Oakmont High School, Class of 1953, and was employed as a bookkeeper at Lewis Lumber and Benjamin Moore Paints, Oakmont. Alice was Treasurer at Oak's Auto Truck Service LLC, Cheswick, where she eventually retired. As a former member of St. Alphonsus Church, Springdale, she taught CCD and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. Surviving her is daughter, Victoria (Mark Fawcett) Ockas, of Shaler; son, Thomas A. (Larraine) Ockas Jr., of Cheswick; sister, Virginia Mariani; and sister-in-law, Jean Klara. As well as numerous nieces and two nephews. Special thanks to her caregivers Lori, Janice, Roberta, Kathy, Georgie and Bobbi as well as Heritage Hospice for their kind and loving care. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday June 19, 2023, in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., Springdale. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Our Lady of Victory Church, Guardian Angel Parish, Harwick, with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery. www.jarviefuneralhome.com.
