Alberta Lee (Berkoben) Van Horn

Alberta Lee (Berkoben) Van Horn, 77, of Cheswick, passed away at home Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023. She was born May 16, 1946, to her parents, the late Eugene and Idabelle Keibler Berkoben and has been a longtime member of the community. She graduated from New Ken High School and was later employed at Allegheny Valley Hospital and Colfax Credit Union until 2006 where she eventually retired. Mrs. Van Horn was a voracious reader and enjoyed traveling with her husband, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most importantly spending time with her family and friends. Surviving her are her loving husband, William W. Van Horn Jr.; sister-in-law, Prudence Berkoben, of New Kensington; sister, Jean (Harold) Blanchard, of Louisiana; sister, Florence McCaskey of California; special nieces, Lisa Burns, Michelle Hamre, Kim Cunningham and several other nieces and nephews; and special friend Margie Vasser. Friends will be received Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, in THE CHARLES B.
