Albert M. "Al" Delenne, of Valencia, formerly of Cheswick, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021, to be with his lord. Al was born Feb. 9, 1947, in New Kensington. He graduated from Springdale High School with the Class of 1965 and enlisted in the Navy in 1966. Al served on the USS Kitty Hawk CVA63 at the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1972, he returned home to Cheswick. He was employed with Westinghouse Corp., and later Curtiss Wright as a welding technician for 37 years, retiring at the age of 60. During his retirement, Al loved his lawn duties. After mowing his lawn, he would sit on the porch with his wife, Renee, enjoying a cocktail and the smell of freshly cut grass. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Sophia Sekaras Delenne, his brother, Jules Delenne, and his first wife, Margaret Delenne. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee, stepson and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Rachel Salerno, and his stepdaughter and son-in-law, April and Matthew Jackowiak. He will be greatly missed by both friends and family. His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, in the CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., where services will commence at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, with the Rev. Doug Crump officiating.
