Richard Jonnet Obituary

Richard H. (Dick). Jonnet 87 of Springdale passed away Wednesday January 16, 2019 at UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital. He was born June 4, 1931 in Pittsburgh to the late Elmer J. and Laura Griffith Jonnet. Mr. Jonnet was a proud graduate of Central High School and a long-time resident of Springdale for 48 years. Mr. Jonnet was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand and great -grandchildren, as well as his dog. Dick liked cutting his grass, garden work, and his crossword puzzles. Survivors are his Wife Gertrude “Gert” Martonik Jonnet of 40 years, Son Michael (Mary Ann) Jonnet of West Deer Twp. and his four daughters; Patti (Kevin) Cummings of Springdale, Lenee’ (Michael) Arnone of Springdale, Marla (Cliff) Jonnet of Penn Hills, Richelle (Jason) Hunkele of Upper St. Clair. His grandchildren Julie, Kristopher, Nina, Michael, Larissa, Daniel, Lamara and Taylor, and his 5 great-grand-children Dalena, Matteo, Mikko, Brennan and Adalyn. He was preceded in death by siblings Laura Belle, Elmer and Joseph Jonnet. Family will receive friends today Friday January 18, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pittsburgh Street. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 19th at 9:30AM in St. Alphonsus Church with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery Harmar Twp.
