Richard V. Heyl, 91, of Cheswick, passed away at home on Thursday August 10, 2017.  He was born on March 21, 1926 to his parents, the late Clemens and Emma Huber Heyl and was a Cheswick resident for 54 years.  Mr. Heyl was a Veteran of WWII and served in The Army Air Corps.  After his discharge, he worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for 37 years where he eventually retired.  He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Harwick and The Springdale Veteran’s Association as well as a 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus.  He was a past volunteer at Lower Valley Ambulance Service and Cheswick Boy Scout Troop. Richard enjoyed gardening, golfing and gambling but most of all he especially enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving him are his loving wife of 58 years Jean Baughman Heyl

Children; son Kevin (Marcie) Heyl of Gibsonia

                 Son David (Holly) Heyl of Ohio

                 Son Bryan Heyl of Arnold

                Daughter Jennifer (James) Skoczlas of Cecil Twp.

Grandchildren Katie, Jesse and Tyler Heyl

                           Rachel and Emily Skoczlas

sisters Louise Wilkes, Pat Mahler and Mary Pecora .

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by 4 brother’s Charles, Armonde, Clemens and Paul and two sisters Audrey Marshall and Delores Rowe.

Friends will be received on Monday August 14, 2017 from 6-8pm and Tuesday August 15th 2-4 and 6-8pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pgh. St. with Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in Our Lady of Victory Church with The Rev. Alan Morris officiating.  Burial to follow in Christ the Redeemer Cemetery, Ross Twp.  Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot 134 Marwood Rd. 16023 or Allegheny Valley Association of Churchs 1913 Freeport Rd. Natrona Heights 15065. Veterans service 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
