Raymond D. Moran, 88, of Springdale, passed away at home on Wednesday January 31, 2018. He was born on July 13, 1929, to his parents, the late James Arthur and Eva (Kennedy) Moran and has been a longtime resident of the community. Raymond graduated from Penn Technical Institute specializing in electronic repair, and he was a handyman who could fix just about anything. He later worked for PPG Harmarville Research Center as an electronic engineer where he eventually retired after 35 years of service. He belonged to the Tarentum Church of Christ where he was very involved. Ray also did mission work, online Bible study, and the work of a church elder. Mr. Moran enjoyed building furniture and was a fabulous carpenter, building his camp home in the mountains where he liked to spend time with his family and play his bluegrass music on his guitar. Daughter Pamela (Freeman) Moran Christner of VA.
Son David Moran of Springdale
Son Daniel (Patricia) Moran of Wisc.
Daughter Paula Moran of Springdale
Grandchildren: Rachel, Jonathan (Lisa), Sarah, Scott, Robin, Katie (Joel), Michael (Colleen), Jesse (Jessica) and Amanda (Nick).
Great-grandchildren: David, Catherine, Solomon, Eric, Aiden, Roman, Beckham, Peyton, and Greyson.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Louise in 2015, and one brother James in 1982. Ray and his wife Lou will forever be missed, but they are now together again in the bosom of their Lord.
Raymond’s family will welcome friends on Saturday February 3rd from 4-8 pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh. St. A memorial service will commence on Sunday February 4th at 2 pm at the Tarentum Church of Christ and will be followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be private in Harmony Baptist Cemetery, Burton WV. Memorial donations for a benevolence fund may be made to the Church of Christ in Tarentum. www.jarviefuneralhome.com
