Michele Rose (Delli Gatti) Lewis

Michele Rose "Shelly" (Delli Gatti) Lewis, 60, of Slate Lick, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at the VNA Hospice of Butler. She was born Dec. 17, 1957. Michelle was a 1975 graduate of Springdale High School. She received her certification of cosmetology from Forbes Trail and worked as a stylist for several hair salons through her long, 42-year career, where she said she "had a blast." Everyone who knew Shelly will always remember her generous heart and how she would do anything for anyone. Michelle loved being with her many friends and her loving family. She loved looking up recipes online, bingo and occasional trips to the casinos, and was gifted in writing poetry. She was a true wizard on the computer. Michele will be remembered with love by her husband, David Lewis, whom she married May 6, 1978; her sons, Jacob and Kyle; her daughter, Rachel, and grandson, Kayden; her sisters, Deborah Vaupel and her husband, Dave, of Pittsburgh, and Tina Zalewski, of Canonsburg; and a brother, Edward Delli Gatti and his wife, Darlene, of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Patricia Reilly Delli Gatti; her brother, Ronald Delli Gatti; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles. Friends will be received from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., where a service will commence at 8:45 p.m. Interment will be private.
