David Sobotka

David Sobotka 74, of Springdale passed away Friday April 6, 2018 at the VA Hospital, Aspinwall. Devoted husband of his Highschool sweetheart Helen Pastierik Sobotka of over 53 years; loving father of Paula (Ken) Grumski of Cranberry Twp. and John (Cheri) Sobotka of Natrona Heights. Cherished Pappy of Kenadi, Kassi and Max Grumski and Jaylyn and Jordyn Sobotka; dear brother of Raymond Sobotka and Anita (Roger) Cleis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Cecelia (Krynicki) Sobotka and a sister-in-law Carol (Pearson) Sobotka .Dave was a member of St. Alphonsus RC Church and was a Naval veteran having served on the USS Saratoga in intelligence and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. Helen and David moved back to Springdale in 1974 as he worked managing a law firm and as an IT Specialist. In later years he enjoyed teaching at the Western Pennsylvania School of Allie Health from which he retired in 2012. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially watching his grandkids various events and activities.

Family and friends will be received Sunday April 8^th from 6-8 pm and Monday from 2-4 6-8 pm in at the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pittsburgh St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am in St. Alphonsus Church by the Rev. Kenneth Kezmarsky. Burial will be private.
