Virginia M. "Ginger" Edinger, 69, of Harwick, formerly of West Deer, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, Jan. 12, 2024. She was born April 27, 1954, to the late Charles and Mary (Lebo) McKay. Virginia lived most of her life in Springdale Township. She owned and operated her own housekeeping business for the last 25 years. She was a parishioner of the former St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Harold J. McKay, of Tarentum, David A. (Aileen) Edinger, of Lower Burrell, and Sherry L. (Andre') Sidney, of Wilkins Township; her grandchildren, Derek (Mykale) Dixon, of New Kensington, Devin Dixon, of Wilkins Township, Andre (Peyton Mann) Dixon, of Monroeville, and Lorenzo Edinger, of Lower Burrell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Julian, Jace, Jalen, Jackson, Judah (Derek and Mykale Dixon) and Angelo (Andre and Peyton Mann Dixon). Virginia is also survived by her siblings, Charlene McKay Edinger, Cheryl Ann Wyble, Joseph McKay, Daniel McKay and Suzanne Call; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her other siblings, Mary Ellen Rawlings, Robert McKay, James McKay and Patrick McKay. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Our Lady of Victory/Guardian Angel Parish in Harwick with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
