Sophie Bishop, 91, of Cheswick, formerly of Rural Ridge , passed away on March 11, 2017 in Fairwinds Manor, Sarver.  She was born on March 13, 1925 and has been a lifelong resident of the valley.  Mrs. Bishop was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale for many years.  She loved to bake and was especially known for making the best lady lock pastries.  Sophie was a resident of Fair Winds Manor where she enjoyed playing bingo, reading, sewing and  visiting with her grandchildren and family.  She was an Eden Ambassador of the facility and loved the responsibility and the interaction she had with the staff.  Sophie would welcome visitors and give them all a warm greeting upon arrival.  Her family would like to thank all the employees of Fairwinds for all the outstanding care they provided for their mom to help make it feel like home.

Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband Stanley in 1986.

Friends will be received on Tuesday March 14^th from 2-4 and 6-8pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh. St. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Alphonsus Church with The Rev. Kenneth Kezmarsky officiating.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
