Ronald P. Walter

Ronald Paul Walter went home to the Lord on Saturday November 12,2016 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Leonard), his daughters Amy (David)Miller and Lorrie (Thomas) Ford, his brother Robert (Karen) Walter, his sister Linda (Robert) Adamsky beautiful grandchildren Zachary, David Jr., Caleb, Jessica, Kelsie and Elizabeth, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald was born April 29, 1941 in Johnstown, PA to Paul Irwin Walter and Betty (Stouffer). Shortly after his birth the family moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to doctors that would assist in treatment for his cerebral palsy. During his childhood, he received many surgeries and spent long periods of time in rehabilitation facilities. On July 12, 1974 Ronald married his wife Elizabeth in Tidioute, PA. They spent the next 20 years living in Indianola, PA raising their family. In August 1992 Ron and Liz moved to Lake Milton, Ohio where they were close to family and friends. In November 2002 Ron and Liz moved to Sidney, NY to be closer to their daughter. In Sidney, Ronald became a member of Sidney Senior Village Association. He spent 3 years as the board president. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Sunday dinners at his daughter's house were a time for friends to gather. His smile was contagious and his soft heart attracted people to always flock to Ronald. He had a genuine concern for everyone he met. In the last few years the cancer slowly drained him but he always smiled and focused on others. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning November 17 from 9 am till a funeral service at 11 am in CHESWICK at the Charles B. Jarvie Funeral Home Inc. 1607 Pittsburgh Street with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens Indiana Twp.
