Michael Pochan, 93, of Springdale, passed away on March 7, 2017. He was born in East Deer on February 20, 1924 and has been a lifetime resident of the community. He served in The U. S. Army during WWII in Western Europe and was wounded in southern France. He was a decorated veteran receiving three Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart Medal. After the service, he worked at PPG Creighton for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and also worked as a meat cutter during his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being with his family.

Loving wife of 70 years Helen Bombeck Pochan
Daughter Sandra (Kenneth) Sopchak of Springdale
Son Ronald and Fiancé Elaine Karp of Plum Boro
Two sisters Virginia Burin and Mary Dolf
4 Grandchildren
2 Great-grandchildren
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers Andy and Paul.
Visitation, services and burial were attended by immediate family and Mr. Pochan was buried with Military Honors at Lakewood Memorial Gardens. Charles B. Jarvie Springdale Funeral Home Inc. was entrusted to regulate arrangements. www.jarviefuneralhome.com.
