Mary Grace (Bruno) Petrak

Marie “Mary” Grace Petrak, 91, of Cheswick died Thursday Janaury 5, 2017 in The Willows at the Presbyterian Senior Care Oakmont. She was born June 8, 1925 in Cosanza Italy to the late Louis & Theresa Panza Bruno and was a resident of Cheswick since 1949. She was a nursing assistant at the former Citizens General Hospital New Kensington for 20 years. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. During WWII she worked for the former Scaifes making bombs for the war. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and cooking. She is survived by her daughter Marie Theresa (Wesley) Lahey of Lakeland Florida; son Richard Alan (Janet) Petrak of Hunker Pa., granddaughter Heather (William B.) Jefferies and great- grandson Noah Jefferies, her Sister  Helen Kuhar of Springdale 9 nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by her husband August Petrak Jr. in 1966 and 2 brothers, Frank and Louis “Pete” Bruno. Family will receive friends Tuesday January 10, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in SPRINGDALE at the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pittsburgh Street.  Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday January 11th at 10 am in St. Alphonsus Church by the Rev. Kenneth Kezmarsky officiating, burial next to her husband will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery Frazer Twp.
