James H. Dugan

James H. Dugan, 81, of Springdale, passed away on Saturday February 25, 2017.  He was born in Johnstown Pa. on January 3, 1936 to his parents, the late Elmer and Catherine Watts Dugan. He has been a resident of the Springdale  for over 55 years.  James served his country in The U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  Mr. Dugan worked for Westinghouse where he eventually retired in 1994.  He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church, Springdale VFW, Springdale/Cheswick Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus Fr. David Emery Council 5021.  Mr. Dugan served on the Springdale Borough council for 20 years and was the mayor of the community for 16 years. He was a people person, always smiling and will be sadly missed by all.   Jim enjoyed watching westerns on television, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert and Kenneth Dugan and a brother-in-law Mike Popp.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday March 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh. St.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 2^nd at 10am in St. Alphonsus Church with The Rev. Kenneth Kezmarsky officiating. Burial will be private in Springdale Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to St. Alphonsus Church Fund 750 Pgh.
