Gerald K. Hochmuth, 84, of Harmar, passed away at home on Wednesday April 19, 2017. He was born in Connellsville on November 24, 1932 to his parents, the late Alexander and Ruth Ball Hochmuth and has been a lifelong resident of the community. He served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Marine Corps. Of Springdale. Mr. Hochmuth worked as a carpenter, receiving a 50 year membership award from Local #333 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. Gerald was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Harwick and enjoyed watching our Pittsburgh sports teams. He especially loved the Pirates baseball and was knowledgeable with all the batting statistics from years ago. When not watching baseball, he liked to sing and play his guitar, listen to country music and go to the casino.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Adalaide Trusiak Hochmuth , 1 brother Harold Hochmuth , his son Daniel and a niece Susan Hochmuth. Friends will be received on Sunday April 23, 2017 in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC. 1607 Pgh. St. from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am in Our Lady of Victory Church with The Rev. Alan Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery with military honors where he will be laid to rest beside his wife Adalaide.
