Elaine M. (Hayes) Snell

Elaine M. (Hayes) Snell, 76, of Springdale, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was born July 27, 1941, to the late William and Emma (Kolb) Hayes, and was a lifelong resident of the valley. She attended Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing, and worked as an LPN for many years. Elaine was an Avon representative in the area for 48 years, and she could always be seen walking around the community delivering her products. She received the President's Club award for top sales. Mrs. Snell enjoyed spending time with her family and her three grandchildren, shopping, walking outside in the fresh air, and especially being with her pets. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Melvern W. Snell; son, Benjamin W. Snell, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; daughter, Jeanette M. (Terry) Tarr; of Hampton Township; and three grandchildren, Lindsey, Nathan and Shannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Gieger.
