David J. Pierce, 77, of Cheswick, died suddenly due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident on Wednesday December 13, 2017.  He was born in Superior on May 31, 1940 and has been a lifelong resident of the valley.  David graduated from West Deer High School and was a member of The National Guard during the Vietnam War. David owned and operated Pierce Transportation for over 30 years with his sons.  Mr. Pierce loved doing yardwork around his home, he could always be seen   cutting the lawn on his tractor with his faithful friends nearby. 

Surviving him are:

Loving wife of 52 years Elizabeth (DeMeio) Pierce

Son’s David (Tara) Pierce of Latrobe

          Sean Pierce of Plum

Daughter Beth A. Pierce and her significant other Jim Wood of Oakmont

Brother Leo (Joanna) Pierce of Erie

Sister Eileen Pierce of Superior

Jane Vidik of Russellton

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother William Pierce.

Mr. Pierce’s family invites friends for visitation on Saturday December 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME INC. 801 Pgh.
